Coaching Staff

Bob Martin - Coaching Director

Past President of the Park City Extreme Soccer Club, Bob Martin is the Club’s new coaching director for the 2006-2007 season. Bob has 20 years coaching experience including coaching the men’s team for 14 years at St. Mary’s College in California. He is also the assistant coach for the Utah Blitzz pro team and Head coach of the Utah Salt Ratz men’s premier soccer league. He headed the regional Olympic Development Program and was their staff coach for 10 years. He has also been on the NCAA soccer committee for Men’s Division 1 teams for the past 5 years. He currently holds a USSF ‘A’ License. Bob is the coach for the Club’s U14Red team.

Liam Heffernan

Coach for U17 and U15 boys teams. Moving from England to the United States in college, Liam played Division 1 soccer and was named to the Soccer America All-American Team, earning team honors twice with the All-American team. He has played professionally in England, Michigan, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. He coaches the Park City High School boy’s team and has been with the Extreme Soccer Club for over 4 years. Liam holdsUSSF B license.

Erik ‘Huf’ Hufnagle

Coach for U16 and U11 Premier teams. In college, Erik was named a four time NAIA All American, a two time Green Mountain College MVP, a Mayflower Conference Player of the Year and the 1996 Green Mountain College Athlete of the Year. Erik has played professional soccer for the Irish Premier League, the New Hampshire Phantoms, the Utah Blitzz and the Norwegian Premier League. As a coach, Erik has his UFFF ‘C’ National License. Erik has been an Assistant Coach for Green Mountain College and the Assistant Coach to the U19 boy’s team in Ireland.  Erik has coached with the Park City Extreme for 5 years, and the Park City High School boy’s freshman, JV and Varsity teams.

Jason “Crash” Jentzch

Coach for U14White and U9 boy’s team and a Salt Lake City U15 Premier team. Crash is new to the Extreme Club this year and brings with him 22 years of soccer experience, including 14 years of competitive soccer. He played with the SLCC team for 2 years and for the past three years has been selected to participate on the Utah State Select Team. He also plays on the Lazio men’s premier team in Salt Lake City. His certifications include a National and State Goal KeepingLicense and a USSF ‘D’ license.

Matt Terwillegar

Coach for boys U10 Red team and girls U11 team. Matt grew up in Lake Placid New York and divided his time between ski jumping and soccer. He attended Keene State College where he played Division II soccer. In 1990 Keene State was the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Champions. He played on the LASA League Club Portuguese Semi Professional team for 4 years and was the Mountain View Soccer Camp Coach for 5 years. Matt was the assistant coach at Plattsburgh State University and has been a coach for the Park City Extreme Club for the past 4 years. Matt’s certifications include a NSCAA National ‘C’ license and a USSF National Youth License.

Caro H. Caro

Coach for girls U10 and boys U10 White teams.

South-American native, Caro has played soccer all his life.
In the
U.S., Caro attended San Francisco StateUniversity and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical education. Moved to Utah with his family 13 years ago and is now a ParkCity, Silver Creek area resident.
 
Highlights:  
  •  Varsity player for the  SFSU “Gators” placed # 8 in the nation 
  •  Recreation Therapist Specialist (RTS) certified at the University of Utah.
  • Horse trainer, specialized in “gaited” horses
  • Coached a Special Olympic U14 Volleyball team
  • Athletic Trainer; management of Athletic Injuries and conditioning for Athletes @ Hayward State University
  • Started and coached the Soccer program for boys and girls at Albany H.S. in Albany, CA.
  • Member of  U.S. Indoor soccer in the Pan-American games held in Brazil 1979.
  • Played in numerous semi-professional  soccer teams in the Bay Area.

 

Jesse Blais

Jesse was the goalkeeper for the Utah Olympic Development Program and received the All-State conference title his junior and senior years of high school, winning the State Title in 2001. He played Division III soccer at Chapman University in Orange County,California and has joined the Park City Extreme Club this season. Jesse holds a USSF National ‘D’ license.

Dave Isleib

Assistant coach, boys U13 White team. Dave is a past Extreme Club soccer player, playing on the Park City High School and Extreme team for 4 years and winning the State championship his senior year. He was also awarded Most Valuable Player that season. Dave is new to the club this year assisting Jesse Blais with the U13 white team.

Tim Davis

Coach for U11 and U13 Red teams. Tim started playing soccer when he was 5 years old. He played on several competitive teams while growing up and all four years on his high school soccer team. He attended Green Mountain College, where he met Erik Hufnagle and played with him on the Green Mountain soccer team. After college, Tim continued on as the assistant coach at Green Mountain for two years. He has been with the PC Extreme Club for the past two seasons and plays on the Park City Men’s Soccer team. Tim holds a USSF ‘D’ License.

John Cairel
 
John is extremely passionate about soccer and has an undeniable love for the game. He played soccer professionally for 14 years in various leagues including the PSL, USL, A-League and MLS. Some of the teams he played for include the San Jose Clash (Earthquakes), San Francisco Seals and the Utah Blitzz. John is a 3x professional National Champion and a former member of the US Youth National Team where he earned over 20 international caps and attended a Jr. World Cup in Scotland and 4 Olympic Festivals. His coaching experience includes, most recently, a 2-year stint as Youth Program Director for Inter FC in Salt Lake. He has coached at the high school Varsity level and has been training youth in Utah for the past 4 years. Prior to that he coached for various clubs in California including the Fremont Soccer Club and Livermore Soccer Club. He also helped develop the Cairel Soccer Academy in Northern California where he served as Technical Director. John has a USSF B license pending.
