AGM

March 26, 2009

 

  • 3 open board positions
  • Minutes from last year – motion approved
  • New logo on new uniform
  • Coaching Report -  Bob Martin:
    1. 2 clubs back together – overall pretty good
    2. Fall season – not played great
    3. Coaching changes focused on younger kids
    4. Teams moving up in divisions overall
    5. 23 teams last year
    6. Connection to High School through dual coaches
    7. More functional this spring – weather permitting
    8. Winter training hard because of other commitments – not a lot of hours available at Basin on week nights
    9. “Soccer Club in a Ski Community”
    10. Continue to do camps – had about 100 kids over winter break
    11. Tryouts – May 18-21/26-29
    12. Training June 28-Aug. 23
    13. Continue to do pair with Basin/Rec – Big Foot, Academy, etc.
    14. Summer Camp 1 June 22-25 Free
    15. Premiere One Camp July 6-11 Willow Camp
    16. PC EX Tournament – July 30-Aug1
    17. Summer Camp 2 – Aug 17-20 – Fee, 5 hours
    18. College Showcase Camp –  July 21-23 (14-18 year old boys), Rob Perez (friend of Bobs) – meet college coaches
    19. April 20th ACL knee clinic for girls – prevention www.aclprevent.com
    20. HS girls tryouts are Aug. 3 – so girls can do PCX tournament
    21. Increase total club #’s – maybe too much?
    22. Drop from 23 to 20 teams this year?
    23. PC Extreme Academy – Apr. 28-June4 – younger kids (5-10?)
    24. ODP – lots of players made teams…congratulations!
    25. Is there a by-law against recruiting? No.
    26. UYSA realignment – Premier division split into two (U15-U18)

1.      XLeague – U9 $1000 (take a loss), U10 1275

2.      Comp League – U11-14 $1275

3.      HS Teams – U15-U18 $900 (3/4 year)

  • Uniforms not included - $250 (Hopefully last 3 years)
  • U18’s may use old uniform since it’s their last year
  • Start buyback program
  • Scholarship kids required to turn in uniforms
  • U9-U10 not required to buy full kit

    1. Strongest teams seem to bring in the most new numbers at tryouts
    2. #1 is word of mouth to get new tryouts
    3. Kudos to parents/players @ tryouts last year amongst new system
    4. Register for tryouts on PC website
    5. Register for teams on UYSA – link from PC website
    6. Print out UYSA form, give to manager
    7. Can’t play until above is done
    8. Payment plans automated on UYSA website

    1. Currently, 60-70 K in bank, would like to maintain this year!
    2. Budget last year done before Black Diamond joined
    3. By laws require us to keep buffer
    4. Program fees = 92% of operating income
    5. Coaching labor = 64% of expenses
    6. Goal is to get to a point where we don’t have to raise fees
    7. This year lowered by $25
    8. Vote on Proposed Budget: Motion to approve-Jody Fischer, Second-Joe Tesch. Motion passed

  • Scholarship Policy –

1.      Of new players added since January 09 – 60% have requested scholarships

2.      Need based only in past

3.      Add merit as well

4.      Limit # of scholarships to B teams to 25%?

5.      Will have to pay $325 minimum

6.      Vote on Scholarship policy (*see separate policy changes) – motion to approve-Cheryl White-Hamrick. Second-Karen Olsen. Motion passed

    1. Motion to waive 72 hour nomination – motion to approve – Ann Hanes. Second-Kim Meyer. Motion Passed
    2. Nomination for Bryan Fox – Karen Olsen. Second-Joe Butterfield
    3. Nomination for Melanie Moffat – Bryan Fox. Second-Karen Howell
    4. Nomination for Cheryl White-Hamrick – Bryan Fox. Second-Karen Howell
    5. As there are only 3 positions open and 3 nominations…Motion to approve without a vote – Steve Porges. Second-Carolyn Frankenberg. Motion passed.
