The PCSC Futures Program is a developmental training program offering an athlete-centered curriculum which will
introduce technical development and lay the foundation of basic soccer skills for players 6 - 9 years of age.
PCSC offers Futures sessions for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 9 years old. Players in the Summer may sign up for an abbreviated 5 week session on either Monday or Wednesday evenings. In the Fall, the 12 week Wednesday session runs September through December, while the 8 week Friday session begins in October and also runs through December. Spring participants may sign up for 10 week Wednesday or 5 week Friday sessions. Spring sessions will run early March through mid-May on Wednesdays and mid-April through mid-May on Fridays. When available, eager players may sign up for both days per week.
Our curriculum is designed to allow players to join at any time during a session (space permitting) and the during the Fall and Spring, the program is scheduled to complement the Rec League soccer schedule. This is done so that the players may work on their technical development during Futures sessions and still experience the fun of game play throughout the Rec League season. (Registration for Rec League soccer is independent of the Futures Program and is not required for Futures participation.)
The primary goal of the PCSC Futures Program is to teach the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment in order to facilitate a successful transition from seasonal Rec League soccer into a full year competitive program. The early years of soccer are a crucial period for a player to foster a love for the game, acquire basic skills, and experience the creativity that will become essential as they progress in their development. Led by professional, experienced coaches, the Futures Program is a structured environment in which the fundamentals of soccer can be taught -- such as individual ball skills -- through age and developmentally appropriate training sessions. Practice and games are designed to create a fun environment for any young person who wants to play soccer while helping them develop the tools they will need to be successful at playing the game in the future. Ultimately, the scope of Park City Soccer Club's youth Futures Program has a three-fold emphasis:
Develop a Child’s Love of the Game
Technical Skill Development
Spring 10-Week Session Wednesdays: March 4th-May 13th (no training April 8th for Spring Break)
Fall 8-Week Session Fridays: April 17th-May 15th
