In response to the rapid Omicron surge in our community, and Summit County's implementation of a new mask mandate, Park City Soccer Club would like to reiterate for our membership and staff the Club's covid protocol:
- Masks should be worn indoors at all times, with the exception of when players are actively participating in training, scrimmages, futsal or other games, or when taking a water break
- This includes walking to and from the field / gym
- This includes sitting out on the sidelines and / or during team talks, and hanging out with teammates at the venue
- Masks should be worn outdoors when walking to and from fields, as well as on the sidelines, during team talks, and when
hanging out with teammates at the venue
- Coaches should wear masks at all times when running indoor games (futsal) and training sessions
- Coaches should mask when traveling to and from fields (both indoors and outdoors)
- Coaches should mask when communicating with, and in close proximity to, players and/or parents (indoors and outdoors)
- While carpools are discouraged, we understand they are sometimes necessary; masks should be worn during carpooling
- Masks should be worn when visiting the PCSC Office, for both quick errands and team meetings / activities
- Players should never share water bottles or food
- During breaks in training sessions, athletes and coaches should make an effort to stay spaced apart and avoid any unnecessary close interaction
- With a number of teams scheduled to attend travel tournaments over the next few months, PCSC leadership will work directly with coaches, managers, and tournament coordinators to outline safety protocols and best practices
In the event of a positive diagnosis or close contact exposure:
- Any player with a confirmed covid diagnosis, with a confirmed diagnosis in their household, or in quarantine due to close contact exposure, should contact Shelley Gillwald at 435.901.3715 to discuss their return to play timeline
The health and safety of our athletes is a priority for PCSC. While we cannot control what happens during the rest of each player's day, we can certainly do our part to limit the spread of COVID while within PCSC environments.
