PCSC's Player Progression
& Development Structure

Program Progression

The development pyramid shows the program that each player will go through as they enter the club at 4 years and graduate at 18. On the left, each program has a related developmental phase. On the right, you will see the two-year coach rotation that has been implemented since May 2019. This rotation helps ensure that players have the most comprehensive education possible by the time they graduate from the PCSC program.

Benefits of Coaching Rotation

  • Each coach will become an expert in the two-year phase they are assigned including age-appropriate sessions, philosophy, and methodology housed within the club curriculum
  • Coaches will be assigned to an age and gender pairing that is most conducive to their personalities to ensure a maximum positive effect on the players' learning
  • Coaches will be able to plan for the next cycle of players as they will know ahead of time which teams they will be assigned to next, and can familiarize themselves with the players and vice versa
  • A gap will not occur in the learning process of players due to a coach not teaching them age-specific topics. Coaches will not spend time duplicating already covered developmental topics unless something needs to be readdressed
  • Relative to the effectiveness of the coach and player dynamic, two years is the optimal developmental window

Player Pathway

The following shows the pathway each player will follow:

Emphasis by Phase

At each state of a player's development, the philosophy differs based on general player needs. The follow image illustrates this progression:
